At the Holistic Health Spa (left trail at mile 369.3). Walked 5 miles today, a Nearo day.
Despite the wind, we all slept really well last night and it ended up not being too cold. Got up and hiked the 5 miles to the trailhead. Flying's knee is really hurting him today, do the rest in town will do him good. The ibuprofen seems to be helping me today.
Got to the trailhead at 9 am and had to wait about an hour for a ride. Drip and Drop showed up and we chatted with them for a bit. Got to town and checked in to the spa. Then went to town and got some food - a burrito and asai bowl.
We then found Hoops, Dirty Knuckles, Burp, Chaparral and others who had stayed at the bud farm last night. The reviews were less than stellar, so I'm glad we skipped that. Went grocery shopping and got wayyy too much food for a 3 day resupply. We tried to figure out our options around the upcoming fire closure. Went with hoops to the post office to help him get a box and they had it otherwise I was going to try to get it for him tomorrow.
Went to the spa, chilled, and sorted food. My room has a bunch of dream catchers in it. We then went to dinner. Our first two options were closed so we went to Mile High Pizza. Was pretty good and we ate with Dean (from Israel) and another hiker. Also met another hiker from the same town in the Netherlands as Flying is from (it's not a huge town either apparently). Came back and got ready for bed.
Did the other hiker from The Netherlands know Flying? Those mountains are impressive so I can’t wait to see your photos of the Sierras!
